Hello, fellow-classmates!

A few words of introduction, to orient you to my site. First of all, this site opens up to my blog, which means that you will need to click on the link on the right-hand side labeled “Forums” if you want to go to the forum.

Concerning the women-in-ministry forum: there is a specific way that I set up (or am setting up, depending when you read this) the forum. I have divided the issue into all of the separate components which I could think of, rather than opening it up for a “free-for-all.” I think that a very common mistake in discussions of this nature is the tendency to create a firm, emotional position from a few select passages and from life experience, then steam-rolling over “those few insignificant passages” that don’t fit. I hope that separating out the issues will make it easier to see whether specific issues actually hold weight, or if they only work within a larger (perhaps flawed) rhetorical construct.

I have also included a section called “resources,” where I invite people to recommend books, sites and sources which they found helpful. Please contribute liberally!

The final section “integrated perspectives” is for those who think they have things all figured out, and want to take a stab at tying the entire issue together, into a coherent argument. In this section (as in all of the sections) I encourage people not to feel limited by space – write as much as you want, we want to hear your perspective!

Concerning my blog: As you can tell by the name of my blog, I see this site as a place of “dialogue.” Often, this dialogue has been “me-myself-and-I,” as I try to get my head straight on some stuff. That being said, please take my words with a grain of salt, recognizing that I am being hyperbolic in many of my posts, and have changed my views on many others.

My faith really is in transition on many points, and I hope that dialoguing with y’all will help me figure stuff out.
